Re: 3DR "Simple" Delta Printer

Looks great, are you planning to publish the parts when you're done? I'm sure folks would find it quite useful as 8mm rod & bearings are quite a bit more common than 6mm.

Re: 3DR "Simple" Delta Printer

Yes, I definitely plan to publish the parts. Once I get the kinks worked out, I'll figure out the best place to publish them.

Re: 3DR Part Sourcing

What are the profiles size? 15x15 or 20x20? 20x20 is far cheaper than 15x15 at least here in Europe. You can get 1m for only 4€ which is about 5 USD and they are widly available.

Re: use second sanguinolulu to expand extruders

RepRapPro does this with two Melzis, which are quite similar to Sanguinololus. You would have to do a bit of research and looking through RepRapPro's firmware, but I think it should be doable with two...

Re: 3DR Part Sourcing

They're designed for Misumi 20x20 extrusions, which were $4 each. The rods came out to about $10 each, so they're a much larger part of the cost than the aluminum extrusions. I order the rods and...

Re: New arm design for Simpson style printer.

Nicholas, It looks amazing, I bet there is little to be improved. The gear joints add something special to this machine, it looks like nothing else I´ve seen, like more industrial. Congratulations to...

Re: New arm design for Simpson style printer.

Thanks to you! If it wasn't for you I would be stuck with torsion springs. Let's take this all the way. BTW, You could do all 3 DLCJ's and the 1 PGDJ for one arm with one string. It could suck to...

(This relates to the arm idea shown in the September 11, 2013 10:47AM post. That's the post I clicked "reply" in!) I don't think this 2-joint arm scheme works as-is, because the string headed for the...
