Update:
Multiple tries in "various ways" with changes in the configuration.h file too.
(1) Installed the Arduino software IDE/toolset v23, Arduino v1.0.3, and Ardunio v1.04.
(2) Installed Ultimaker's RepG 25 and tried latest ReplicatorG builds.
Used ReplicatorG and Pronterface.
ReplicatorG: Used the Sprinter experimental driver.
Pronterface: Could just connect.
Results: Crazy text characters resulted. The fix to this was using ReplicatorG 25 and uploading a new firmware set: Ultimaker - Arduino Mega Shield v1.5.x (Mega 2560 only).
The below is what results of ReplicatorG which is similar to Pronterface. Seems like the thermistor error. ( Unknown: : extruder switched off. maxtemp triggered !) Thermistor connections have been tripled checked and plugged into different Ts (T0,T1,T2).
