Re: 3DR "Simple" Delta Printer
Yes, I built a Rostock abourt a year ago and tried using Spectra line. The problem was that the spools wheren't perfectly round, so I changed to GT2 belts. I tried again when I built the 3Dr simple....

Ok, thanks. I did buy the aluminum ones because I coudln't print perfectly round ones on my reprap'd MBI Cupcake CNC. I'm glad that you'd designed and shared these parts so that we can revert to belts...

JohnSL, I'd like to second that request for .STEP files. I'd love to make some tweaks, but SolidWorks is a bit out of reach...

Where are the max endstops wired to? I guess mine are wired to the min.
View ArticleRe: Rostock problems
Delta printers only use one endstop per column...at the top...and they are wired to the MAX endstop pins. M119 and check the MAX endstop signals, and re-compile the firmware of there's only MIN...

I only have one per column but they are wired to the min pins I think. Which pins are for max?

solidworks is within reach for anyone if you know where to look ;-). I am lucky in that I have a legitimate home use license through work. It wasn't always that way, though.

I got it homing correctly now. I can move each direction in printrun and it looks pretty smooth and sounds good. But the lcd isnt working still. How do i have to set it up in the software to get it to...

Congratulations! When it is moving correctly it will be easier from now on. Sorry, I do not know about LCD. I do not use it.

I'll not be using a heated bed, so that won't be too much of a consideration for me. Thanks for the feedback guys!
View ArticleRe: Fixed, non-mechanical probe idea: Inductive Proximity Sensors
Hi The CNC guys seem to have abandoned them for probes and just use them for limit / out of range sensors. I played with a couple of the parts you mentioned. They don't seem to trigger as reliably as...

I'm still fumbling with my design for a CNC delta machine. I plan to keep it very small, with a 90mm x 90mm x 50mm cutting area. I may try threaded rod with an adjacent linear smooth rod for each...

What advantage does a delta have in a CNC application? Also, there is a thread in the extruded aluminum forum that has a reddit link with a code for $150 in free parts from Misumi (us and Canada...

That point is always brought up. A delta CNC is done typically for uniqueness more than anything. There r some advantages in averaging error w three towera instead of adding it up as one does in a...
