Re: Core XY Printer £100.00 Build Cost
Hi Len So far only PrntQB 1 and 2 are published. I'm working, slowly, on a core xy that uses Openbuilds V wheels but it's a way off yet. The Cherry Pi range of deltas are mine too and CP III uses v...

I'll look at the carriage, seems straight but maybe it's not. Since I've swapped the arms from one side to the others and its stay the same way, the carriage is the only thing left to look. I also...

Do not feel like you have failed, nka. There are plenty of people here every day who never made it as far as you did! Speaking of tilted effector plates, this was my first 3D printer -- a RepStrap...

Not sure I have failed yet, but I know I'm lacking time to win as fast as I would :p btw, your printer is amazing, amazed it was able to print too :p

I'm calibrating my Kossel for the first time right now... :) Anyway, I was thinking you could double the print height of a Delta by switching the orientation of the arms half way through the print....

Longer extrusions (and more bracing) are probably cheaper in the long run.....

I have the same problem, when I print a object X40mm Y40mm Z50mm height the XY dimensions or correct but the height is bad. I measure Z53mm when the print is ready :S I change the steps\mm of the z...

That would be some pretty complicated switching. The arms aren't designed to flip up loosely like that. You would need pretty decent force from some motor to do that, adding more weight to the...

Print a cone with bottom radius of about 1 cm and top radius about 0.5 cm. Make it about 5 cm high. Measure the height with callipers. If the height is not correct then your steps per mm are wrong....

I can't see how it is possible without disconnecting the arms and re-attaching them.

So I built my Kossel Mini to 760/360 extrusions. Inadvertently, I am using the Tridprinting 12" strong wall rod and traxxas rod kit for a diagonl rod length of (340mm). Using Jay's visual calc, it...

At least some of those aren't junk steppers and Ebay isn't always junk. The first set are Minebea steppers, and are actually quite good (it was a joint venture with Panasonic up until last year)....

haha thanks for sharing the fact that it's not always working as it should. Got the printer to work (It's working if I stay into the little 50mm radius). [youtu.be] The shape is right (true circle)...

If you did not buy belts yet, get ones with carbon fibre or steal core. Kevlar may be ok if you can get the better one (there seem to be more variants). Avoid glass core belts. They are too stretchy....

Not only that. How about arms colliding with the printed piece. If you would make the platform so wide that this would not be a problem than more space would be wasted by making the printer more wide...
