Re: Grounded Experimental Delta Printer

QuoteA2 I don't understand what you are suggesting, or what this provides, can you explain? Sure. Basically, Bountysource provides a way (one of many many different ways) to pay people for...

@ MattMoses That's an awesome suggestion! I didn't realize that GitHub and BountySource could be linked, makes good sense!

Here is a link to the BOM. A few people are already done printing some parts. That is awesome but I haven't assembled the instructions yet. I just uploaded the STLs. One of the biggest gotchas is that...

Re: RepRap 3DR Delta printer Released

Hi there I have attached my 0.83 repetier firmware if it helps anyone. This is for a megatronics V2.0 and I have the LCD and Keypad working. This was modified from the Rostock Max firmware. Note that...

Extrusion speed

Hi guys, Just finished the build of a first 3D printer. We've got a Megatronics V2 in it running Marlin firmware with delta mod. I've just switched to Repetier Host whereas before we were using...

First callibrate extruder as described e.g. here: [richrap.com] If it does not help, then there can be more reasons for this: * Your z-height is not correct (the nozzle is still too far from the bed...

Re: Extrusion speed

Your jerk values seem to be low for a delta. Try 20 for x,y,z. But this is unrelated to the problem that filament does not stick to your heatbed.

Quotenicholas.seward I put the part in an oven on low. I take it out every minute and hit it against a hard surface. When the tap turns to a thud you are ready to insert the bearings. I have heard...

Thanks for your replies. The problem seems to shift itself. At first it wasn't extruding fast enough. I don't know how to change the extrude speed in the firmware or slic3r. When I gave manual...

Re: Extrusion speed

Firmware specifies only the maximum speed. In your case it is set to 10000 (the 4th arument of DEFAULT_MAX_FEEDRATE). 1000 is probably more common. It depends on your extruder. But this value is not...

Re: Grounded Experimental Delta Printer

I would expect crud to accumulate in the v points. It's hard to clean inside-corners like those, and dust etc won't be able to work its way to an open end and fall out. Does that really not matter in...

Thanks for the excellent information Bob. I already broke down and ordered the i3 kit, can't wait to get started building. Good info about not adding more weight to the delta.

Re: Rostock Max 3D for first printer?

Don't give up on the idea of a Delta. I think everybody should have one. I'm just not sure that they make the best first kit printer (yet).
